Hey M Girls!
We recently got to chat on the phone with Power Rangers Samurai star, Alex Heartman -- he's nominated for the Favorite TV Actor award in tomorrow's Kid Choice Awards! Alex dished some fun deets about his show, the KCAs and so much more.
Check out some highlights from our Q&A sesh:
M: Hey Alex! For readers who might not know, can you tell us a bit about your show, Power Rangers Samurai?
Alex: It's really about adventure. They're normal teenage kids, until they morph, and that's when they become superheroes. I think that's one of the great things about our show -- fans can really attach to the real, teenage characters, morph with them, and be drawn into the show even more.
M: Your awesome performance as Jayden (the Red Ranger) earned you a Kids Choice Award nomination. Congrats! Where were you when you found out you were nominated?
Alex: I was sitting on my couch, not too far away from where I am talking to you right now. It was just a normal day. It was actually pretty funny. One of my friends texted me, and she was like, "I think you're going to have a good day today." That's all she said, and then I got the call telling me that I had the nomination not too much later -- 45 minutes afterward, I'd guess. My brother, who I live with, was in the apartment and I didn't know what to do. I was running around. I was shaking. I called my mom and she didn't know what to do. It's kind of turned my world upside down in a very good way.
M: That's amazing! Which part of the KCAs are you most excited about?
Alex: Getting slimed! I've always wanted to know what it feels like. I think it's going to be warm and gooey!
M: Which celeb do you want to watch get slimed?
Alex: Katy Perry after her performance -- that might be kind of funny!
M: Speaking of funny, do you and your cast mates ever play any pranks on each other?
Alex: We kind of live the Power Rangers life on and off set. While we were shooting, I lived with Erika Fong and Brittany Pirtle -- we rented a house together. Hector David Jr. and Najee De-Tiege rented an apartment not too far away. We really spent a lot of time together, on and off set. We did play some pranks on each other. Every time Najee would come to set, he'd have a full suitcase full of weights, protein powder, his laptop, a PSP, two iPhones--all these types of gadgets. And so, there was one day where Hector and I took all of his stuff and we hid around the studio. He was freaking out because he thought all of his stuff got stolen off of set. Obviously, we left him little clues to where each thing was. He was really mad at us, but it was pretty funny.
M:Finally, because we're dying to know, do you have a celebrity crush?
Alex: I've always had a crush on Mila Kunis!
